<div class="section1"><div class="Normal">CHANDIGARH: Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala on Sunday claimed that the biggest achievement of his government was the supply of sufficient electricity to farmers.<br /><br />The chief minister said this after inaugurating a 33 kv sub-station built at a cost of Rs 1.35 crore at Hansi. He said 250 mw each of the seventh and eight units of Tau Devi Lal Thermal Plant at Panipat would become operational in October 2004 and February 2005, respectively.<br /><br />One crore additional units of power would be made available after the commissioning of these units, said Chautala adding that the work on 500 mw Yamunanagar power plant would commence soon.<br /><br />The rural sector had been supplied 57 per cent more power as compared to what it received during 1998-99, claimed the chief minister stressing that due to the steps taken by his government in the last four years the established capacity of power generation had increased by 828 mw.<br /><br />He said a Rs 35 crore project had been taken up in Hisar district in which six new sub-stations would be set up and the capacity of six existing sub-stations would be augmented so as to strengthen the distribution system.<br /><br /><formid=367815><br /><br /></formid=367815></div> </div><div class="section2"><div class="Normal"><br />Later, while interacting with the people under the "Sarkar Aap Kei Dwar" programme, the chief minister announced that keeping in view the historical and religious importance of Hansi, the city would be developed on the pattern of Kuruskshetra so as to attract foreign and domestic tourists.<br /><br />He said all the Haryana cities situated along the national highways would be beautified.<br /><br />Addressing a public meeting at Bass near Hansi, the chief minister said he never indulged in politics of votes and he would not let down those who had trusted him.<br /><br />At Bass, he laid the foundation stone for a community health centre which would be built at a cost of Rs 20 lakh and also inaugurated a high school for girls.<br /><br /><formid=367815></formid=367815></div> </div>
